Mary,
What a cool thing to do! I want to support you in every way possible! I am commiting to three days' with you...in the meantime I am working to build from my two-miles-a-day on the treadmill to about 6).
I told people at St. James Presbyterian about the pilgrimage last night, and they are excited and ready to support you! I am sending them the link right now.
I'll also co-ordinate housing details, and let people who inquire know what is involved so you can have company!
Allbest--
Lee

How do we join you for an hour or two? I have 2 children, 3 & 5, and live in Edmonds so could join you at St. Thomas More.

Teresa and all others interested in this critical question:
We are working on a schedule even as you wrote. First step will be to post a spreadsheet of each portion of the journey, and who will be participating, and their emails. Once that level of detail is pinned down, then we will plan each day's activities (based on the length of the walk, the parish schedule--such as Mass, etc.--and parish facilities.) Then we will be able to note the points for joining in, being picked up, etc.
Since I can only walk 3-4 miles a day without entering into major fatigue meltdown, I am being careful to plan the route carefully for all of us drop-ins/drop-outs.
Thank you for asking; keep checking into the blog to see our updates.
Blessings upon you all....

I am interested in walking from Fife to St. Leo's, as I am a member of St. Leo's. What time are you starting to walk and where do I meet you?

Dear Heidi, and all others who are interested in joining us along the way.
In general, we will be starting at 9AM from any given church (unless there is a Mass around that time that we can attend. The spreadsheet now lists the Mass times.
Here's what to do to find out what to expect:
1. Check this blog the night before you want to join us. We will try to give an update on the numbers of people each day, and our plans for the next day, etc.
2. Call either of these numbers: 360-661-2965 (Lee's phone) or 360-820-4958 (Mary's). We will be able to tell you where we are at any given time on the route.
Please remember this is primarily a prayer activity..everything is totally new to each one of us. We are providing as much information as we can, sharing what we know...so your patience is relly appreciated!

Mary and Nick, I am missing you and following the blog to see your great photos and day's end information. I have been thinking a thought: when we got the cross to carry unexpectedly at St. Thomas, it seemed like there was an extra thing to contend with. Like "what are we going to do with this?". Now I see it as a true symbol of this pilgrimage- God's love for all his people. It looks very significant in this mission for immigrant reform and when I see you or Nick or Liz carrying it it seems just a perfect expression of what this walk is all about.I am really hoping to get to Tacoma for the final walk to the Detention Center.
